Number of Children Ever Born (TISP, TISRP)This variable counts the number of children ever born (live births) to each female aged 15 years and over. The non-response rate for this variable was 6.0% (6.9% in 2006). More information is available from the 2011 Census non-response quality statement. Data for this variable is captured automatically from written numeric responses, or the 'None' mark box. This process is subject to low levels of recognition error. The data are subject to sample checks to ensure an acceptable level of quality. In addition outlying values are checked manually to ensure that they match the actual response on the form. The data may include a small proportion of persons with unusually high numbers of children ever born, as all numeric responses are accepted as reported. Additional categories have been made available for 2011 to include single fields for values from 0 to 29. Values of 30 or more are grouped as a single category. Ranged data is also available from the variable Number of Children Ever Born (ranges).
