How do I login to ABS eSurvey? To login to ABS eSurvey, you need a User/Unit Identifier and a Password. What if I lose the User/Unit Identifier? It is important that the User/Unit Identifier provided to you is used every time you log into the survey. Please keep this User/Unit Identifier in a safe place. If you misplace your User/Unit Identifier, please contact the ABS and a customer service representative will assist you. See Contact Us for details. What if I lose the Password? The security of your information relies upon the confidentiality of your Password. You will be asked to change your Password the first time you enter the online form. Please ensure that once changed, your Password is stored in a secure manner to prevent others from using it to access your information. If you do misplace your Password, please contact the ABS and a customer service representative will assist you. See Contact Us for details.I'm getting a login error message, what can I do? This message is usually caused by typing an incorrect User/Unit Identifier and/or Password when logging in to the form. Please check that you are entering the User/Unit Identifier and Password correctly, remembering that the password is case sensitive. If you continue to receive an error message, please contact the ABS and a customer service representative will assist you. See Contact Us for details. On every page within ABS eSurvey, there are links to online help and information which may assist you. What if I cannot complete the survey in one session? The survey form is resumeable. If you are unable to complete the form in one session you can save your information, exit and return to complete the form at a more convenient time. You can exit the form at any time by clicking the 'Save and Exit' link, which appears in the top right-hand corner of the form. For information on the resume function, please refer to How do I resume completing the survey at a later time? Why have I skipped questions? The survey has been designed to skip questions that are not relevant to you based on your responses to previous questions. This makes completing the survey quick and easy. Therefore, each question must be completed in the order in which it appears in the survey . ABS eSurvey has been designed to skip questions that are not relevant based on your response to previous questions. What happens if my internet connection drops out? If your connection returns quickly, within a few seconds, you should be able to continue the survey as before. If your connection does not return quickly, your session will remain active and you may not be able to login again until the session has timed-out and your information is saved. The survey form has timed out If you do not interact with the survey form for 30 minutes, you will need to login again to continue using ABS eSurvey. Your information will be saved and should be available again upon login. Does the survey form save? The ABS eSurvey is designed to save your data when you click the Save and Exit button, when your session times out, or when you click the final 'Submit' button. How do I resume completing the survey form at a later time? If you are unable to complete the survey form in one session you can save your information, exit and return to complete it at a more convenient time. You can exit the survey form at any time by clicking the Save and Exit button, which appears in the top right corner of ABS eSurvey. ABS eSurvey is resumable which means you can start the form, quit and save your form, then complete and submit at a later time. To return to your saved survey form, please follow the login instructions here: How do I login? Should you misplace your User/Unit Identifier, please refer to What if I lose the User/Unit Identifier? If you have misplaced or forgotten your Password, please refer to What if I lose the Password? Can I make changes to a section once it has been marked as 'Done'? Yes. Changes can be made to any section of the survey form, even those that have been completed previously. To make changes to a completed section, use the navigation options presented to navigate to the section you would like to edit. Once you submit the survey form, for security reasons the form is locked and can no longer be retrieved by anyone except the ABS. How do I submit the survey form? To successfully submit the survey form, all sections must have been completed and the left-hand navigation must have updated to reflect this completed status. Use the navigation links to navigate to any incomplete sections and complete them. When all the relevant questions have been answered, upon pressing the final Next button for a section the completion status for that section will be updated. Once all sections have been completed, clicking the final Next button of the final section will progress the form to the Submit page. From the Submit page, click the Submit button to finalise and submit your survey form. How do I enable JavaScript in my browser? To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer 7 and 8: 1. Open the browser 2. At the top of the browser window, in the Tools’ menu, select 'Internet Options' 3. Select the 'Security' tab 4. Select the 'Internet' icon and click the 'Custom Level' button and go to the 'Security Settings - Internet Zone' box 5. Scroll down to 'Scripting' and under 'Active scripting' select 'Enable' 6. Click Ok 7. Restart your browser to apply the settings to enable JavaScript. To enable JavaScript in Firefox 3: 1. I'm having trouble accessing ABS eSurvey Please remember that general Internet traffic can reach peak levels at certain times of the day. The ABS has endeavoured to design a system capable of handling heavy Internet traffic however there are elements that are beyond the control of the ABS. How secure is the survey form? The ABS is bound by the Census and Statistics Act 1905 to protect the confidentiality of the information you provide to the ABS. To ensure that your information is delivered to the ABS securely, we have used the strongest industry standard encryption technology that your web browser will support. This means that the information you send is unable to be read by anyone except the ABS. All possible measures have been taken to protect the integrity of the survey form.
