Livestock and meat production monthly trend movements for January 2015:
  • Cattle slaughter remained steady at high levels in January 2015, reflecting poor weather conditions combined with higher beef prices
  • Sheep slaughter continued its decline in January as the industry prepares to restock
  • The decline in lamb slaughter slowed during January reflecting strong export demand
