Where to Start

A product is the tool people use to get to the data. There are different products depending on the different user level required. Each product has it's own features, different formats and applies different degrees of complexity. Check out Which Census Product is Best for you to help you determine which product you should use.

Each product has its own page on the ABS website.

As a starting point go to QuickStats or Community Profiles to complete a search using the search tool within the page.

Advanced Search has multiple ways to find specific geographic areas. Use Advanced Search if the QuickStats or Community Profiles search tool doesn't find what you are looking for.

DataPacks provides the next step up in data analysis. It is designed for clients who have their own database or mapping systems.

TableBuilder is another product that we offer. If you need help, the TableBuilder User Guide provides information about:
    • available data in TableBuilder
    • how to register
    • browsers
    • accessing TableBuilder
    • TableBuilder home page features.
