Broad Description
A six monthly survey of funds managed by AIMA members listing source of funds and giving figures for assets in which funds are invested.

Purpose of Data
The statistics are compiled to provide a picture of the activities of AIMA's members and to improve the level of publicly available information about the investment management industry in Australia.

Investment management firms who are members of AIMA.
Superannuation Data Items
Market Overview:

  • Sources of funds under management
  • Funds under advice
  • Distribution of total funds under management
  • Allocation of assets under management
  • Allocation of assets under management by fund type
Market Concentration. Detailed tables of sources and allocation of funds for:
  • Life funds superannuation (including ADF's)
  • Retail unit trust funds
  • General insurance funds
  • Other wholesale funds
  • Other retail funds
  • Funds under advice - market overview
Data recorded in billion dollar (or part thereof) units.

Data are collected directly by AIMA and analysed by an independent research group.

Method of Collection
Questionnaires are sent to all AIMA members for completion. Questionnaires consist of a series of tables completed manually. Responses are normally received from all but three or four members. Membership is approximately 61 members.

Frequency
Six monthly.

Timeliness
6-8 weeks after the reference period.
