DESCRIPTION
The Labour Force Survey is a monthly household survey providing a wide range of statistics about the Australian civilian labour force. In particular, it provides monthly employment and unemployment estimates. Labour Force Survey estimates are used to facilitate the analysis and monitoring of social and economic aspects of the Australian labour market and working age population, particularly by the Commonwealth Government and state governments. The Labour Force Survey estimates are also used to support the development, implementation and evaluation of labour market policies. The Labour Force Survey provides information on education such as the relationship between education and employment, particularly for young people. It also provides industry and occupation-based information on teachers and other educators.
The following education data items are available:
- School attendance
- Year and month left school
- Full-time tertiary educational institution attendance.
