At 30 June 2005, Tasmania's estimated resident population (ERP) was 485,676, an increase of 3,440 or 0.7% over the previous year. From 30 June 2000 to 30 June 2005, Tasmania's estimated resident population increased by 14,267 from 471,409, to 485,676 or by 3.0% over the period.
