  • About this Release

Annual; ISSN:0083-8772; The Western Australian Year Book is a contemporary reference book detailing the political, legal, economic, social and environmental framework of Western Australia. It has been extensively revised and includes many interesting feature articles highlighting significant issues affecting Western Australia during the year in review. Separate chapters are devoted to history; the environment (physical features, climate, flora, fauna; conservation and environmental protection); energy and water resources; government; population; social welfare and health; law, order and emergency services; education; culture, recreation and sport; the economy; agriculture, forestry and fishing; mining; housing and construction; commerce (small business, manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade, and transport); tourism; finance; the labour market; consumer and producer prices; and foreign and interstate trade. Each edition contains a profile of a statistical region (for instance, the 1993 regional profile was the Goldfields-Esperance region) and each year a comprehensive section on Historical Statistics is included for the reader's convenience.

This publication has been converted from older electronic formats and does not necessarily have the same appearance and functionality as later releases.
