The ANZSIC Coder is a user friendly, computer-based look-up tool that operates in a Windows environment. The software enables the user to identify the correct ANZSIC code for an economic activity. The user can enter all or part of a word, or a group of words, describing an activity. The Coder then returns to the user a list of activities, together with their ANZSIC class codes, which are relevant for that description. Selection of a particular entry displays the ANZSIC hierarchy screen with the appropriate ANZSIC class highlighted (a detailed description of the highlighted class is available on the next screen displayed by the program). It is also capable of searching using all or part of an ANZSIC code. This is useful when the ANZSIC class is known but details of the class description are required.
The ANZSIC Coder comprises the software and data files necessary for operation in a Windows environment. It also includes an in-built 'Help' facility.
The ANZSIC Coder will be periodically updated to include new index entries. Clients wishing to receive advice of these updates should complete the product registration details under the Product Registration tab on this CD-ROM.
The ANZSIC Coder is available through bookshops and the National Information and Referral Service (NIRS). It can also be ordered on-line through the ABS Web site.
