In 2004-05, Victorian farmers produced 271,000 tonnes of potatoes, behind South Australia (365,000 tonnes) and Tasmania (321,000 tonnes).

In 2004-05, 42% of all potatoes produced in Victoria came from the Central Highlands Statistical Division (114,000 tonnes) and 23% came from the Gippsland Statistical Division (63,400 tonnes).
