In June 2010, wheat grain committed for domestic use or export fell to 4.9 million tonnes. Of the total wheat grain committed, 3.9 million tonnes was contracted for export while wheat grain committed for domestic use fell to 1.0 million tonnes.
In June 2010, most states reported decreased export commitments from May 2010, with only New South Wales (up by 3 thousand tonnes) and South Australia (up by 115 thousand tonnes) showing increases.
Compared to June 2009, wheat grain committed for export increased by 38%, while wheat grain committed for domestic use increased by 17% in June 2010.
