Cattle (excluding calves):
In the September quarter 2012, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) remained steady at 1.8 million.

Calves:
The number of calves slaughtered in the September quarter 2012 decreased by 8% to 147 thousand when compared to the previous quarter.

Sheep:
The number of sheep slaughtered in the September quarter 2012 increased by 7% to 1.5 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Lambs:
Lamb slaughterings in the September quarter 2012 increased by 3% to 5.1 million.

Pigs:
Pig slaughterings in the September quarter 2012 decreased by 1% to 1.2 million when compared to the previous quarter.

Chickens
Chicken slaughterings in the September quarter 2012 increased by 1% to 141.7 million when compared to the previous quarter.
