Governor-General launches ABS Year Book Australia

The 2007 Year Book Australia was launched today by His Excellency the Governor-General of Australia, at the North Bondi Surf Club in Sydney.

The Year Book pays special tribute to surf lifesavers, who have been saving lives on Australian beaches for 100 years. The Year Book also reflects on the prominent role that Australia and Australians have played in Antarctica over the history of its exploration.

The Year Book is the "flagship" publication of the Australian Bureau of Statistics and provides a comprehensive and detailed annual statistical review about Australia.

As patron of Surf Lifesavers Australia his Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC (Retd) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia was pleased to officially launch the flagship publication by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
