Wheat grain exported
  • Wheat grain exports in June 2012 were up by 81 thousand tonnes (or 4%) since May 2012 (revised).
  • The total of wheat grain exported in June 2012 was 2.3 million tonnes which was 900 thousand tonnes (or 63%) more than June 2011.
  • Western Australia contributed 780 thousand tonnes which accounted for 33% of national wheat grain exports.

Annotation(s): (a) The end of September is used to represent the closing stocks of wheat grain prior to the commencement of the next harvest period (October to September).

Wheat grain export destinations
  • In May 2012, Thailand imported the most Australian wheat grain, with 278 thousand tonnes. This was followed by The Republic of Korea with 264 thousand tonnes and Indonesia with 244 thousand tonnes.
