Wheat grain exported
  • The total of wheat grain exported in August 2012 was 2.2 million tonnes which was 815 thousand tonnes (or 59%) more than August 2011.
  • Wheat grain exports in August 2012 were down by 59 thousand tonnes (or 3%) since July 2012 (revised).
  • Western Australia contributed 788 thousand tonnes which accounted for 36% of national wheat grain exports.

Annotation(s): (a) The end of September is used to represent the closing stocks of wheat grain prior to the commencement of the next harvest period (October to September).

Wheat grain export destinations
  • In July 2012, Indonesia imported the most Australian wheat grain, with 517 thousand tonnes. This was followed by The Republic of Korea with 318 thousand tonnes and China with 243 thousand tonnes.
