Irrigation on Australian farms

Gross Value of Irrigated Agricultural Production (GVIAP) (cat. no. 4610.0.008) refers to the gross value of agricultural commodities that are produced with the assistance of irrigation. GVIAP estimates have been a core component of the ABS Water Account, Australia (cat. no. 4610.0) which was produced every four years up until 2008-09, after which it has become an annual product.

GVIAP data will be released on 13th December 2012 in a web page based format with downloadable data cubes (excel spreadsheets) in the following categories:
    • Gross Value of Irrigated Agricultural Production (GVIAP)
    • Gross Value of Agricultural Production (GVAP)
    • Volume of Water Applied
    • Time Series

    Geographies released include:
    • Australia
    • State and Territory
    • Natural Resource Management (NRM) region
    • Murray-Darling Basin (MDB)
