The Census Night ratio for Coober Pedy was 120. Coober Pedy had a high proportion of males in its usual resident population (56% compared to the national rate of 49%). Interestingly, the Census Night ratio for males was 119, and for females it was 123. People aged 45 to 69 years, had the largest impact on the Census Night ratio. In this age range the Census Night ratio was 128 for males and 132 for females.
