This class consists of units mainly engaged in manufacturing men's or boys' outerwear from purchased or transferred in materials, except headwear, footwear or garments made from leather or fur.

2242 Women's and Girls' Wear Manufacturing

This class consists of units mainly engaged in manufacturing women's or girls' outerwear from purchased or transferred in materials, except waterproof clothing or clothing made from fur, leather, plastic or rubber.

2243 Sleepwear, Underwear and Infant Clothing Manufacturing

This class consists of units mainly engaged in manufacturing foundation garments, underwear, sleepwear or infants' clothing from purchased or transferred in materials.

Exclusions / References
Units mainly engaged in manufacturing clothing from fabrics knitted at the same unit are included in the appropriate classes in Group 223 Knitting Mills.

This class consists of units mainly engaged in manufacturing headwear, fur or leather clothing, clothing or clothing accessories n.e.c. This class also includes units mainly engaged in providing clothing trade services such as hem stitching, basque knitting or buttonholing.

(a) rubber gloves or bathing caps are included in Class 2559 Rubber Product Mfg n.e.c.;

(b) sports gloves are included in Class 2942 Toy and Sporting Good Mfg; and

(c) other than simple safety headwear (e.g. welding masks, gas masks, smoke helmets) are included in appropriate classes elsewhere.
