AVETMISS Apprentice and Trainee Collection
Scope All persons employed under a national Apprenticeship/Traineeship training contract, that is, a formal contract between an employer and an apprentice or trainee. State and territory training authorities are responsible for the provision of data to NCVER for each client who has an active training contract on or after 1 July 1998. NCVER advises the training authorities of the timing for the extraction and submission of data on a quarterly basis. After the agency has extracted data from its system it is required to validate the data using the AVETMISS Validation Software. This ensures the data provided complies with the AVETMISS standard and is consistent nationally. TIMING OF COLLECTION Reference Period Data is collected cumulatively. Frequency of Collection Data is updated and compiled on a quarterly basis. Historical Data From 1 July 1994, this data has been compiled using AVETMISS. Data for earlier years is also available, however due to changes in the scope and reporting period of the collection, users should consult the contact officer listed above if they wish to compare this data to that prepared under AVETMISS.
