WA Crime and Safety Statistics released tomorrow


The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will release information from the 2000 WA Crime and Safety Survey tomorrow as a feature article in WA Statistical Indicators March 2001 (cat. no. 1367.5).

The article contains information about selected crimes - household break-ins, attempted break-ins, motor vehicle theft, personal robberies, assaults - information on the reporting rates of crime to the police and public perceptions of crime and public nuisance problems in their neighbourhood.

Members of the media who would like a copy of the publication for reporting purposes should email client.services@abs.gov.au

A media release will be posted on the ABS website at 11.30 am Canberra time, www.abs.gov.au.
