Trend estimate

The preliminary trend estimate for July 2003 (361,600) indicates a slight increase in the series and a turn around from the decline experienced in recent months. However, caution must be exercised when interpreting trend estimates for recent months and trend estimates are revised as new monthly data become available (refer to paragraphs 14 to 16 of Explanatory Notes). Several additional estimates will be required before a recovery point in the series can be confirmed.
