VALUE OF CONSTRUCTION WORK DONE, VOLUME TERMS

TREND ESTIMATES

  • The trend estimate for building work done rose 1.5% in the December quarter 2006. Residential building rose 1.3% and non-residential rose 1.6%.
  • Engineering work done rose 1.2% in the latest quarter.
  • Total construction work done rose 1.4% in the latest quarter.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate of building work done rose 0.9% in the December quarter 2006, to $15,312.0m. Residential building rose 0.7% to $9,360.9m. Non-residential building rose 1.1%, to $5,951.1m.
  • Engineering work done rose 9.2%, to $11,349.4m, in the December quarter 2006. Work done for the private sector rose 11.2%, to $7,005.8m. Work done for the public sector rose 6.2%, to $4,343.6m.
  • Total construction work done rose 4.3%, to $26,661.4m, in the latest quarter.
