FEBRUARY KEY POINTS


TREND ESTIMATES

  • Total job vacancies in February 2008 were 180,300, an increase of 1.3% from November 2007.
  • The number of job vacancies in the private sector was 161,100 in February 2008, an increase of 1.2% from November 2007.
  • The number of job vacancies in the public sector was 19,200 in February 2008, an increase of 2.5% from November 2007.

FUTURE ISSUES

The Survey of Job Vacancies will not be conducted during 2008-09. The May 2008 issue of this publication, which is scheduled to be released on 26 June 2008, will be the final issue for 2007-08. The survey may be reinstated in 2009-10.
