JUNE KEY POINTS


ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
  • In original terms, June 2015 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $22,594m, an increase of $1,679m (8%) on the revised May 2015 merchandise imports of $20,915m.


PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
  • Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $1,894m (9%) between May and June 2015.
  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $976m (4%) between May and June 2015 to $23,287m.
  • Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $957m (10%), driven by fuels and lubricants, up $599m (24%) and processed industrial supplies n.e.s., up $357m (14%).
  • Consumption goods rose $80m (1%), driven by consumption goods n.e.s., up $69m (3%).
  • Capital goods fell $42m (1%), driven by capital goods n.e.s., down $310m (57%).
  • Non-monetary gold fell $19m (5%).


REVISIONS
  • Revisions on an international merchandise trade basis have been applied back to December 2014.
  • The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
