TREND ESTIMATES
  • From February 2005 to February 2006 the number of public sector employees increased by 31,900 (2.0%) to 1,622,500.
  • In the same period the number of employees increased in Commonwealth government by 2.7% and in state government by 2.2% and decreased in local government by 0.6%.
