JUNE KEY POINTS


QUARTERLY ESTIMATES
  • For the June quarter 2010, there were 56 disputes, 2 more than in the March quarter 2010.
  • The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in the June quarter 2010 was 13,900, an increase from 13,200 in the March quarter 2010.
  • There were 24,000 working days lost due to industrial disputation in the June quarter 2010, a decrease from 28,800 in the March quarter 2010.
  • The Metal product manufacturing and the Construction industries each accounted for 6,500 (27%) of the total number of working days lost in the June quarter 2010. The Coal mining industry had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (43.3) for the quarter.
  • In the June quarter 2010, Western Australia accounted for 9,200 (38%) of working days lost. Western Australia also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (8.8) for the quarter.


YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
  • During the year ended June 2010, there were 231 disputes, 39 more than in the year ended June 2009.
  • During the year ended June 2010, there were 126,500 working days lost compared with 126,200 in the year ended June 2009.
