Queensland easily produces more bananas than any other state. In 2002-03, Queensland farmers produced 231,900 tonnes of bananas, ahead of New South Wales (25,300 tonnes) and Western Australia (6,200 tonnes). BANANAS, Queensland, year ended 30 June
