JUNE KEY POINTS


VALUE OF WORK DONE, CHAIN VOLUME MEASURES

TOTAL CONSTRUCTION
  • The trend estimate for total construction work done rose 0.7% in the June quarter 2008.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for total construction work done fell 2.6%, to $30,136.7m, in the June quarter, following a revised rise of 5.0% in the March quarter.


BUILDING
  • The trend estimate for building work done fell 0.2% in the June quarter. Residential building work done rose 0.1% while non-residential fell 0.6%.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate of building work done rose 0.2%, to $16,797.1m, in the June quarter. Residential building rose 0.2% to $9,875.9m and non-residential building rose 0.3%, to $6,921.3m.


ENGINEERING
  • The trend estimate for Engineering work done rose 1.7% in the latest quarter.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for Engineering work done fell 6.0%, to $13,339.5m, in the June quarter.
