UNEMPLOYED PERSONS TREND ESTIMATES


MALES

The trend estimate of unemployed males generally fell from 349,500 in August 2002 to 235,600 in June 2007. The trend then rose to 382,900 in June 2009, before falling to 307,400 in March 2011. The trend then rose to 337,800 in August 2012.

FEMALES

The trend estimate of unemployed females generally fell from 273,000 in August 2002 to 228,900 in February 2008. The trend then rose to 292,000 in September 2009, before falling to 284,500 in February 2010. The trend has since risen to 297,700 in April 2012 before falling to 291,300 in August 2012.

PERSONS

The trend estimate of unemployed persons generally fell from 622,500 in August 2002 to 468,300 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 673,900 in June 2009 before falling to 596,700 in March 2011. The trend has since generally risen to 629,100 in August 2012.
