AGGREGATE MONTHLY HOURS WORKED TREND ESTIMATES


FULL TIME

The trend estimate of full time aggregate monthly hours worked fell from 1,168 million hours in August 2000 to 1,143 million hours in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,348 million hours in August 2008, before falling to 1,309 million hours in July 2009. Full time aggregate monthly hours worked has since risen to stand at 1,353 million hours in August 2010.

PART TIME

The trend estimate of part time aggregate monthly hours worked has generally risen from 160 million hours in August 2000 to 237 million hours in August 2010.

TOTAL

The trend estimate of total aggregate monthly hours worked generally fell from 1,328 million hours in August 2000 to 1,315 million hours in November 2001. The trend then generally rose to 1,565 million hours in July 2008 before falling to 1,534 million hours in June 2009. The trend has since risen to stand at 1,590 million hours in August 2010.
