  • About this Release

The spreadsheets contain trade in services credits and debits data for: country and country groups by calendar years; calendar years by country and country groups; state by calendar years; calendar years by state; detailed travel service by calendar years by country and country groups; and education related travel credits by calendar years by educational sector by type of expenditure. A full range of data is available from the 2000 calendar year.

This release incorporates services revisions made in the August 2013 release of the International Trade in Goods and Services, Australia (cat. no. 5368.0) publication, and are consistent with revisions previously published in the November 2013 release of the International Trade in Services by Country, by State and by Detailed Services Category, Financial Year, 2012-13 publication (cat. no. 5368.0.55.003).

These revisions date back to 1999-2000.

For the Travel series, revisions were as a result of:
new data received from Universities' Australia International Student Survey 2010,
revisions to Tourism Research Australia's International Visitor and National Visitor surveys,
revisions to ABS overseas arrival and departure numbers.

Revisions have also been applied to the Travel series for 2012 incorporating revised estimates of Overseas Arrivals and Departures data after a review of the ABS OADS system in 2013. Detailed information on the changes and improvements arising from the rebuild of the OAD system are available here. Further revisions are expected in future editions of this publication as revised OADS data is incorprated into Trade in Services data in line with the Macroeconomic Statistics Revisions policy.

Continual improvements in frame and coverage for the Survey of International Trade in Services have been applied.
