18/09/2008 Note: This publication will be reissued on 18 September 2008 to correct a few typographical and small errors in six tables. The homeless population aged 65 or older, reported in Table 3 in the Main Findings and in Table 5.1 in Chapter 5, should be 7,400. The previously published number of 7,740 people was a typographical error which did not affect any totals or text references. In Table 5 in the Main Findings, and similarly in Table 5.4 in Chapter 5, the proportion of the total homeless population identified as Indigenous should be 9.1%, rather than 9.9% as previously shown. The Indigenous proportions for each sector of the homeless population are correct. Also, while the number of marginal residents in caravan parks in 2006, by state and territory, was reported correctly in Table 7.1, the corresponding numbers repeated in Table 7.2, and in Table 8 in the Main Findings, differed by 1 or 2 for some states and territories. The reissue corrects Table 7.2 and Table 8 to be consistent with Table 7.1, and updates associated text references.
