CONSUMER PRICE INDEX

The all groups consumer price index (CPI) for Adelaide increased by 1.3% in the 12 months to September 2007, compared with a 1.9% rise in the weighted average of eight capital cities. Both Adelaide's CPI and the weighted average of eight capital cities rose by 0.7% in September 2007.

The largest percentage increases in prices from the previous quarter were Food (2.6%) and Financial and Insurance Services (2.2%). The largest percentage decreases were Household contents and services (-1.8%) and Health (-1.1%).
