Purpose
To provide strategic indicators for monitoring and benchmarking of Melbourne Metropolitan Declared road network.

Description
Traffic travel times are collected from a sample of the Melbourne metropolitan road network (all freeways and 15 per cent of arterial roads), using the floating car method. Travel time data are used to calculate Austroads performance indicators.

  • Delays;
  • Queue lengths; and
  • Speed.

Geographic Coverage
Victoria, local government areas, metropolitan statistical divisions.

Frequency of Data Availability
Data are available every six months.

Historical Data
Data are available from 1994.
