METHOD OF COLLECTION
In 1995 the Survey of Voluntary Work was conducted as supplementary to the Labour Force Survey.
The 2000 Survey of Voluntary Work was conducted through the Population Survey Monitor (PSM).
TIMING OF COLLECTION
Frequency of Collection
It is planned for the next Survey of Voluntary Work to be collected as part of the 2006 General Social Survey.
The previous Survey of Voluntary Work was conducted in June 1995 as a supplementary topic to the Monthly Population Survey (MPS) whereas the 2000 survey was conducted on the PSM. The two survey methodologies differ and results from the 1995 survey have been recalculated to achieve greater comparability between the two surveys. For more information, see the Technical Notes of Voluntary Work, Australia, 2000 (cat. no. 4441.0).
