    Purpose
    To collect production quantities of selected major manufacturing commodities for Australia.

    Description
    The information about the level and movement of manufacturing activity is used as an important economic indicator. Detailed commodity and geographical data are mainly used for market analysis.

    Data are collected by mail questionnaire. This survey does not collect data from single establishment manufacturing businesses with fewer than four persons employed or from establishments primarily engaged in non-manufacturing activities but which may carry out some manufacturing in a minor way.

    Data are also collected from a number of different sources, including Department of Primary Industries and Energy, Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Australian Dairy Corporation and from ABS agriculture collections.

    Data are available for automotive gasoline, fuel oil, aviation turbine fuel and automotive diesel oil.

    Australia.

    Data are released monthly, quarterly and annually.
