This is the fourth release regarding the introduction of ANZSIC for Industry data in the Labour Force Survey. Previous issues were named Labour Force Survey: Introduction of ANZSIC for Industry Data (cat no. 6259.0).

This edition provides information on the historical revisions to ANZSIC Industry data based on amendments to the concordance between the previously used Australian Standard Industry Classification (ASIC 1983) and ANZSIC 1993; including an overview on the impacts to data now classified under ANZSIC 2006, the timing of introduction, and the availability of historical (backcast) data.

The first edition of this information paper, released on 12 September 1994, provided detailed information about the introduction of the ANZSIC Classification to the Labour Force Survey. The second and third editions, released 11 October 1994 and 28 June 1996 respectively, provided details on prior amendments and revisions to the ASIC 1983 and ANZSIC 1993 concordance. These have since been superseded by this current issue.
