This publication examines a number of complex issues facing policy makers in Australia, such as climate change and natural resource management, and illustrates how environmental accounts can be used to further improve the decision-making process. It also includes a range of accounts that highlight the various interactions between the environment and economy. These accounts are based on the System of Environmental and Economic Accounts which was elevated to an international statistical standard in early 2012.
