What's New on the ABS Web Site? Some of the recent developments on the ABS web site include: a) New Animated Population Pyramids for the States and Territories; and b) ABS in the media using Google News facilities. New Animated Population Pyramids: A population pyramid is a graph showing the age structure and sex distribution of a population. It is a useful tool in revealing information about a population's history and future possibilities. Animated population pyramids show the change of population distribution over time. New animated population pyramids for all States and Territories were launched on the ABS website on 13 December 2006. ABS in the media: The ABS web site now has a customised Google News Search. It now displays a web page showing references to the ABS in news articles.
