Updating ANZSCO

The Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations describes all occupations for Australia and New Zealand.

Latest update

Users can now provide feedback regarding the proposed changes to the classification from 25 July to 6 September 2024. Feedback provided will be used to refine the proposed classification, preparing for its use from December 2024.

Users can provide feedback through the ABS Consultation Hub until 6 September 2024. 

We would like to extend our appreciation for your valuable input. These changes reflect the collaborative efforts and insights provided by users, ensuring that the classification accurately represents a modern Australian labour market. 

This diagram shows the timeline of the ANZSCO public consultation process. The first three public consultation rounds have now closed with over 600 submissions received. Proposed occupation changes from rounds 1, 2 and 3 will be released in June 2024. The updated classification will be released in December 2024.
