The 1989-90 National Health Survey CURF contains data on 54,241 persons. Information contained in each record will include State and health region; household, family and income unit types; age, sex, marital status, birthplace, year of arrival in Australia and whether English spoken at home; education and labour force details (including occupation); income (personal and equivalent income decile); private health insurance and whether government pension/benefit received. Quintiles of the SEIFA index will be provided. Health information will include recent and chronic illness conditions, visits to doctors, dentists and other health professionals, short-term disability, accidents, asthma, immunisation, hospital visits, use of medications, women's health issues and risk factor characteristics such as tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, diet, exercise and body mass index.
