How to apply for TableBuilder and microdata

Census TableBuilder Guest datasets can be accessed without registering.

Register to automatically get access to all free datasets, including:

• Census TableBuilder Basic
• Businesses in Australia

• If your organisation subscribes to TableBuilder or microdata, you will also be automatically joined to your organisation for immediate access to subscribed products.
• See Data services prices for subscription costs for MicrodataDownload, DataLab, Census TableBuilder Pro and other TableBuilder datasets.

• Use your organisation email address when registering to join automatically (unlimited organisation members at no additional charge)
• Receive an email asking you to activate your account by clicking on the link
• Immediate access to free TableBuilder products
• Immediate access to your organisation's subscribed TableBuilder datasets
• To check if you are already registered, enter your email address into the Register screen
• If you are a user in more than one organisation, register separately using each organisation's email address

• The ABS processes the application and advises you and your organisation's Contact Officer of the outcome
• The ABS contacts your organisation's Contact Officer to arrange payment if required (credit card is the preferred payment method)
• If you are applying for MicrodataDownload, the head of your organisation must also submit a Responsible Officer Undertaking to the ABS, see Responsible Use of ABS Microdata user guide

• Access Census TableBuilder datasets as a guest without registering
• Log into Census TableBuilder for Basic or Pro
• Log into TableBuilder for all other datasets

• Log into MicrodataDownload
• Alternatively, if your organisation has previously received basic microdata on CD-ROM, your Contact Officer can provide you with access once you have registered and joined your organisation in the Registration Centre
• Log into Registration Centre for a list of your organisation's Contact Officers

• Log into DataLab using the credentials we provide you after approval
