Groups of people

Persons

For basic statistics on persons use QuickStats. For further detailed person tables the Community Profiles offers a range of different person characteristics starting with the Basic Community Profile. If the Community Profiles do not contain the data you require then build your own person table using the free TableBuilder Basic product which has a Person Characteristics database containing classifications at the person level.

TableBuilder Pro provides comprehensive data at the person level. This product contains larger population-based databases and will offer you the ability to build person tables for a variety of person classifications in their place of enumeration, place of usual residence or place of work. For a more complex table you can contact our Information Consultants, who have expertise in Census data and can provide a charged service, generating your table and saving it in a suitable format.

Families

For basic statistics on families use QuickStats. For further detailed family tables the Community Profiles offers a range of different family characteristics starting with the Basic Community Profile covering tables containing basic family structures to more detailed tables within the Expanded Community Profile broken down into couple families and one parent families characteristics. If the Community Profiles do not contain the data you require then build your own family table using the free TableBuilder Basic product which has a Family Characteristics database containing classifications at the family level.

TableBuilder Pro provides comprehensive data at the family level. This product contains larger population-based databases and will offer you the ability to build family tables ranging from the people that fit into a family type (Counting Persons, Place of Enumeration database) or count families within a specified dwelling or count families for a variety of family classifications (Counting Families, Place of Usual Residence database). For a more complex table you can contact our Information Consultants, who have expertise in Census data and can provide a charged service, generating your table and saving it in a suitable format.

Dwellings

For basic statistics on dwellings use QuickStats. For further detailed tables the Community Profiles offer a range of different household characteristics starting with the Basic Community Profile for tables containing basic household structures to more detailed tables in the Expanded Community Profile which have a wider range of household income and housing costs tables. Census offers a Time Series Profile which contain six tables on household income and housing costs across the 2001, 2006 and 2011 Census years. If the Community Profiles do not contain the data you require then build your own household tables using the free TableBuilder Basic product with two topic based databases available to construct tables on basic dwelling and household counts for Persons in Private Dwellings or Household Income and Expenditure tables.

This product contains larger population based databases and will offer you the ability to build household tables ranging from the people that fit into a household type ( Counting Persons, Place of Enumeration database) or count households that contain family types (Counting Families, Place of Usual Residence) or count households from a variety of household classifications (Counting Dwellings, Place of Enumeration database). For a more complex table you can contact our Information Consultants, who have expertise in Census data and can provide a charged service, generating your table and saving it in a suitable format.

Other groups of people

The Community Profiles Working Population focuses on people aged 15 years and over and who are employed with a wide range of tables for different types of employed persons characteristics.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (Indigenous) Community Profile was developed focusing on a small range of characteristics for this population group.

For more detailed tables on groups of people, TableBuilder Basic allows you to select a database covering types of topics relevant to a selected group of people. For example, the Cultural and Language database was designed to focus on one or more ancestries, religions, languages etc. and can be classified by age and other characteristics in this database.
