In North-West Arnhem, the median age of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people was 25 years. Of the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people 29.4% were children aged 0 to 14 years and 2.6% were people aged 65 years and over.

In North-West Arnhem, 55.4% of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people were married and 4.9% were either divorced or separated.

Cultural & language diversity

English was the only language spoken at home by 2.8% of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in North-West Arnhem. Indigenous languages spoken at home include Kunwinjku 62.3%, Maung 15.7%, Iwaidja 4.4%, Cape York Peninsula Languages, nec 0.8% and Kuninjku 0.4%.
