Brisbane 2001 Census Social Atlas to be released 6 December The 2001 Census Social Atlas for Brisbane will be released by Demographer, Professor Peter Spearritt of the Brisbane Institute on Friday 6 December 2002. Details: Who: Professor Peter Spearritt, Executive Director of the Brisbane Institute What: Launch of the 2001 Social Atlas for the city of Brisbane When: 10:15 am for 10:30 am start Where: Kennedy Room, Carlton Crest Hotel, King George Square, Brisbane QLD 4000. Why: The Brisbane Social Atlas presents colour maps of key social and economic characteristics of the city, at the time of the 2001 Census. The maps are easy to interpret and are accompanied by a brief commentary explaining main features and characteristics. It provides a primary source of information used by a wide range of government and non-government organisations alike in planning for the future. Vision opportunities: Speeches and interview opportunities with Professor Spearritt and the Queensland Regional Director of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Brian Doyle. Media information: A comprehensive information kit containing the publication and CD ROM will be available to journalists attending the event. The CD ROM is of broadcast and print quality standard.
