EMPLOYEES AND HOURS WORKED BY OCCUPATION

  • From an occupation perspective, Managers continued to work the longest hours, averaging more than 43 hours per week for the last four quarters. Sales workers, Labourers and Community and personal service workers have consistently averaged less than 30 hours a week.
  • Technicians and trades workers, and Machinery operators and drivers, averaging more than 40 hours per week in the May quarter, dropped to an average of 38.1 hours (down 2 hours) and 37 hours (down 4.7 hours) respectively in the August quarter 2009.
