This variable identifies whether a person was employed and what their status in employment was or if a person was unemployed, or not in the labour force in the week prior to the census night.

      Applicable to: Persons 15 years and over.

        2 - Employer
        3 - Own account worker
        4 - Contributing family worker

        Unemployed
        5 - Unemployed looking for full-time work
        6 - Unemployed looking for part-time work

        Not in the Labour Force
        7 - Not in the Labour Force
        & - Not stated
        @ - Not applicable
        V - Overseas visitor
