Grain sorghum and wheat are the main cereal grain crops grown in Queensland. In 2004-05, Queensland farmers produced 1.2 million tonnes of grain sorghum.

In 2004-05, 63% of all grain sorghum produced in Queensland came from the Darling Downs Statistical Division (733,000 tonnes). The next highest producing Statistical Division was the Fitzroy Statistical Division with 301,000 tonnes.
