In 2002-03, Victorian farmers produced 270,900 tonnes of potatoes, behind South Australia (328,000 tonnes) and Tasmania (320,300 tonnes).

In 2002-03, 40% of all potatoes produced in Victoria came from the Central Highlands Statistical Division (108,800 tonnes) and 28% came from the Gippsland Statistical Division (74,700 tonnes).
