Queensland has Australia's second largest pig herd after New South Wales. At 30 June 2005, the Queensland pig herd stood at 666,000.

At 30 June 2005, most pigs in Queensland were found in the Darling Downs Statistical Division (406,000) and the Wide Bay-Burnett Statistical Division (179,000).
